Maternity Session in Downtown Grapevine, TX - Coombs Family
One of my favorite families is expecting a new addition again soon… their third little girl! Our last maternity session was at the Dallas Arboretum. It’s almost Christmas and these images will be used for Christmas cards and serve as a memory of this important stage during their lives. Kim suggested that she wanted a place with lots of Christmas decorations. Without hesitation, I suggested Historic Downtown Grapevine. It’s always decorated perfectly for Christmas!
The morning started off cold then gradually warmed up over the next hour. It was a little challenging to get the baby sister on board because it was cold and she preferred to be held. Thankfully, a gray cat from the neighborhood came to the rescue and served as a distraction from the temperature. When posing the sisters together and individually, they were excited to ring the doorbell at one of the Ice Museum’s buildings.
When setting the date for the photoshoot, any time before 10:00 AM is best. Any time past 10:00 AM will become a challenge, especially on the weekends. Downtown Grapevine’s festivities tend to take place after this time during the winter, and it’s least crowded between 8-9am (which is when I prefer to have most of my photoshoots, for that same reason). Grapevine, TX has a display that projects white, faux snow into the air near the section of Christmas trees across the street from the Ice Museum. Unfortunately the site didn’t open until later in the day, and this momma was exhausted before the time came. We finished the session with the littles dancing while getting corn-dogs at one of the Food Stands.
